have a hydraulic spray pump connected to one of my remotes. It works perfect. The problem is that while the spray pump is running, my 3 point hitch will not go up or down. Is there a fix for this? I can't use the pump and operate my hitch at the same time. What gives?

Thanks

It sounds like you are using a hyd motor to turn the spray unit, then no 3pt, there is no fluid left for the 3pt.

If you only use a little lever for the spray unit, then there willl be enough fuid to work the 3pt.

If you can't divide the fluid flow, using the lever position , then there is a valve called a priority valve that will provide fluid to a particular circuit.

Does your remote have a detent spool valve?

You could use half spool on the remote and that will pass enough fluid to operate the 3pt.

Thanks JJ.

I have 2 detent remotes and have tried connecting the spray pump to both. While either remote is engaged, the 3pt will not raise. As I now understand when the remotes are in use, fluid is not getting to the hitch. I guess this is normal on a Kubota. I'm used to JD tractors that don't have this type system.

If I could "steal" enough fluid from the mid hydraulic block (where a loader would normally attach) to run the pump, would this solve my problem and let the hitch work and run my spray pump? Or would the hitch still not function.

I get kind of lost on the plumbing.

In an open center hyd system, all valves are in series, and there may be switches that will switch the flow from one valve to another.

Since all valves are connected in series, the first valve that operates gets all or most of the fluid depending whether the lever is fully activated.

The 3pt is usually last in line if there is no fluid left over from the pump flow, the 3pt will not work.

As to whether you can have flow to the 3pt at all times can be done, with some hyd circuit application.

It depends on how important the spraying is as to whether you want spray all the time, since you only use the 3pt part time.

A divider valve or splitter valve/priority valve will divide the flow to different circuits, and this will ensure both work at the same time. The hyd motor will run slower in a split mode or divider mode.

The flow can be split equally or in a priority mode where a certain circuit gets the same flow all the time , with the excess flow going to the other circuit.

You might get away with stop spraying, use the 3pt and then go back to spraying.
