I see in the parts manual there is an "alternator KIT" thats available..?? I didnt "order" anything special on mine...but visually..it "appears" I have a belt driven allternator...if not..what is it then?

Whatever it really is..??...how many AMPS will it put out so that I can run "some" ( not many) additional lights and I also wish to install a "cigar lighter" in my dash.

Any help greatly appreciated

My 2410 came with a dynamo, which barely produces enough to run everything while the tractor's in use. Last year, running an electric heater in the cab during snow removal would drain the battery and my maintainer would not recharge it sufficiently.
This year, I installed the alternator kit. I much larger unit clearly badged "Nippon Denso".

Yeah! Geeze. My dealer just called me back. The dynamo puts out a WHOPPING 14.5 amps....LOL About enough to shock you if you put both wires on your TONGUE.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It just hampers me "some". Im going to tap into the hazard lights and add 2 of those little "bullet shaped" yellow lights up on the ROPS...and then add a (about.??) 55 watt quartz flood ( pointing fwd) for some lighting in the evening when Im using the FEL a bit. But since I wont have the headlights on ( they get blocked by the FEL anyway) I think it will work. BUT..it sort of blows my "want" of a 30 amp fused "cigar lighter" all to the dickens!!

Much appreciated!

Get the alternator upgrade. Its a B7312. It should cost around $170 plus installation. It will give you 40 amps which is enough to run all the lights you will ever want/need.

Mad is correct, but it is a B7324 for the B3030 model. Cost is $170.00 plus install.

Any idea what the NIPPON DENSO part number is for that alternator? ( NOT the Kubota item number )

And any idea what all comes WITH the alternator from Kubota? Meaning special brackets or ?? If its a "swap out" from the dynamo to the alternator and nothing more..I can find it on the net cheaper than $170.

On all other B and BX series tractors it is not just a swap out. The dipstick assembly is changed, there are different brackets and the wiring harness is different. The voltage regulator is no longer used but most installations just leave it in place due to the difficulty in getting to it.

Several people have posted on their experiences installing this kit on several different models. Do a search for alternator upgrade and you should find them. Plan on spending 3-5 hours doing the installation.

I wonder if I could get that old 100Amp GM alternator to fit in my B2400?
