I've noticed a couple things on my B3030 and wonder if they're "normal":
1 -- Sometimes, when under some load or going up a hill I notice that the HST gives a little jerk. After the jerk, I think it's going a bit faster but I'm not sure of that. It's almost like it catches for a moment before fully engaging. Anyone else notice this?
2 -- Yesterday, I loaded my King Kutter carry-all on the 3-point hitch with a pretty full load of firewood. Must have been about 2/3 of a face cord; no idea of the weight, but it was heavy. Overnight, I lowered the carryall to the garage floor to take the weight off the hydraulics, and planned to unload the carryall and split the wood today. I started the tractor this a.m. and let it warm up for at least 5 minutes or so. When I went to raise the carryall, it barely got off the garage floor -- nowhere near the normal lift height. It was just high enough to move the tractor without dragging the carryall. Finally, when I got it out of the garage, the hydraulics seemed to take hold and raise the carryall to its normal height.
Was this just an indication that I was near the maximum lift capacity of the 3-point? Anyone else have this experience?

When you tried to raise the 3pt did you hear any bypassing/squeeling or maybe a hissing sound...if not then the pump wasn't bypassing. There maybe something else happening like hyd pressure not up to what it is suppose to be.

I notice a very little jerk in my HST on my 2800 every now and then. Just like you are describing. I don't know what it is, but probably nothing to worry about.

I notice a little "jerk" after going down a slope. As it levels out and power is required to continue moving forward the HST is being pushed and as it starts to pull again there must be a little lag. Ocasionally, I also notice a little jerk when going forward right after backing up. It doesn't happen very often and I wouldn't know how to duplicate it so I quess it is just a quirk that B3030s have. Otherwise, it rocks!

I have not had any problems with the 3PTH. The heaviest thing I lift is my 1 cu/yd lawn vacuum. Only three or four hundred pounds at the most when full. Never had any problems lifting my 6' RB either.

Have you done your 50 hour service yet? How many hours does it have. I think I would contact my dealer and see if they have anything to say about it. Good luck.

Probably the hydraulic oil finally got warm enough for the 3ph to function properly. Pretty normal with hydraulics. Lighter oil might help.

Make sure your fluid is up, Don't take for granted the dealer did everything right

I did a VERY rough estimate of the weight of that carryall full of wood and came up with 1200-1300 lbs. With the added weight of the carryall and its wood frame, and the fact that it extends about three feet beyond the ends of the lifting arms, my guess is that I was getting close to the max lifting capacity of the hydraulics. Maybe that explains the delay of 3-4 minutes before the hydraulics were able to lift the whole thing to normal height.

JStreet,

Have the same 'jerkiness' on my B7800. Really don't notice it unless I'm in high gear, traveling at a good clip. I've driven the tractor 2-3 miles over paved streets and when the grade changes (uphill), I'll notice a little pull and then the sensation of going a little faster. It became more noticable after the fifty hour service. I called my dealer and he said that it's normal in the HST trannies. When encountering the uphill grade the tranny compensates for the added load (his story).

I've never noticed any other probs related to this, and it's never gotten any worse than that initial faint feeling of speed.
