Does anyone have any thoughts one way or the other? I have a good price on a B7800, HST, FEL, 4WD , R4s ($14.5k) but I do not know if I should go up one more knotch?

Is the B3030 worth the price difference?

Thanks.

This past July I was looking at the same two tractors. After driving both I opted to go with the B3030HSD. I then planned on getting a cab for it later down the road. But then I found you could not get an OEM cab for it if I didn't buy it with one on it right from the factory. When I started looking at the after market cabs they didn't seem as good as the factory cab and they looked to cost the same. So then I went with the B3030HSDC. I will tell you that I am glad I went with the 3030 over the 7800 and even happier now that I took the plunge and got the oem cab on it now rather than an after market for the same price later. I chose the B3030 because I liked the extras and the options it offered and the looks of it a little better. On the other hand I know a guy that has a B7800 and he loves it, and has no complaints. So I guess it depends what you really want, and how much you want to spend. For my B3030HSDC and the LA403 fel I paid about $19,850, but I know that others have gotten a better price from reading these forums.

I went with th B3030 because of..
1) More power
2) LARGEST size I could get that still fit into the SMALLEST of places I need to operate it.
3) The "added" features

The B7800 is a fine machine and a good value for the money. If you plan to spend a lot of time on your machine & change implements often, you should at least consider the 3030, if for no other reason than telescoping lower links.

Well it really depends on what your doing with it, They are the same tractor mechanically. Same motor and drive line. the real difference is position control and telescoping links. Appearance wise one is curved and the other is square. Like King said if your doing a lot of 3 point work or doing repetitive work like plowing food plots or tilling you might like position control. I have a horse farm and my tractor is more toy than tool. I chose the 7800 because I liked what it looked like in the size I was looking for. I like the whole exoskeleton thing. I do regret not getting the ATI tach all and bucket though. I will get it and modify my bucket but sure wish I did it to start with.

When I got my B7800, the 3030 wasn't out yet (the deluxe version was the 2910). It had more creature comforts which didn't really matter to me. I did like the lower links and was thinking about buying them and adding them to my 7800 but then I got Pat's easy change system and it works great. As timber said, it really depends on what you are using it for. I use mine mainly for mowing and snow removal with FEL or at least those are the two tasks I purchased the tractor for. I now have tiller, post hole digger, rake, rotary cutter, box blade, slip on forks and some other implements. I seem to add at least one a year.:D
I have really grown to like the 1/4 inching valve on the 7800. I also like the clutch on the 7800 for the post hole digger as opposed to no clutch on the 3030.
My outlook when looking at the premier 2910 and the economy 7800 was I could spend the extra money on implements. With the 3030, the cab looks nice when moving snow and mowing in the hot sun.

I have to agree about the clutch and the PHD. I lay a lot of fence and plant a lot of Bushes and Trees. I also work from the front with the loader more than using the 3 point hitch, as time goes and I buy more implements that will change but the things I have in mind don't require repeat setting the implement depth. Both tractors are wonderful machines and I could not say 1 is better than the other. It really is a personal choice. What are you future plans is what I would ask myself. The difference in price is tricking it out rear remotes or a tach all or having some of the stock features of the 3030 is more important, or perhaps an implement you have your eyes on. Such decisions only you can make for yourself LOL. Have fun there are a lot of options when buying a tractor. Not like a pickup (with or without 4 wheel drive) LOL
