While pricing a 3030 the dealer said only two rear remotes were an option and the third was not available. He a third valve was not available on the 3030 but was on the 7800. Can anyone confirm if this is correct and why would they not have this option on the premire version? I also know the third would not be used often but would rather have it than not. Don't want to rush into a purchase but 0% financing is ending soon..

Rear remotes on the B7800 are accomplished by using an external multi-spool valve mounted on the ROPS along with several hoses that connect it in series with the loader valve. The rear remotes on the B3030 are special proprietary stackable valves that are mounted directly to the tractor drive train, ala the Gand L series tractors. No additional hoses are needed, only the metal lines back to the QD's which are part of the kit.

There's not enough room for a 3rd remote on a B3030. I mean the one mounted in the right fender. But you can add as many valves as you want on the rops. The first pic shows you the right fender with the two remotes. The second one is a pic of a valve I added on my former BX23.

Here's what the two remotes on a B3030 looks like from the rear end. It look nice and doesn't interfere with the backhoe.

Thanks for the replies... Stef thanks for the pictures. I had not seen where the factory handles mount. I have done quite a few searches on remotes for TNT and Grapples... and still trying understanding the differences or choices. I think I have how a spool valve and a diverter valve works, but I am stuck on how a 3rd function works such as the long compared to a solenoid operated valve. If you have a spool valve with a handle for each function or a 3rd function, I assume that a grapple or HTL cylinder could be stopped in-between full extension or retraction. Have I read correctly that with a solenoid valve the cylinder would either be extended or retracted but not adjustable to stop in-between.

Thanks

spool valve = single function = remote

A third function solenoid valve is an electronic spool valve. The button that actuates the soleniod is a 3 position (on-off-on) momentary contact push button. The solenoid stays activated as long as the button is pushed. It works just like the lever on a normal spool valve or remote.

A diverter (usually solenoid controlled) takes the output of a single spool valve and diverts the flow to two different cylinders that do different things. For example a spool that controls the loader curl is ususally used along with a diverter to control a grapple. When the diverter is energized flow goes to the grapple, when not energized it goes to the loader curl.

Any of the above will control a grapple or HTL.
