I'm still in limbo on my choice. I will mostly be on finished lawns with the tractor. Though will still be at times have to move and spread several loads of dirt/sand. Would like to have forks, tiller, fel, BH, forks, ph digger, grapple. I don't have to have any of this stuff much less the tractor but I LIKE TOYS. I would like to stay around 33k if I can. What do ya'll think?

Oh BTW I just retired at 55 with lots of projects on my 1 acre I could use this stuff for. The Mrs. says we could hire it all done and have some $$ left over.:( Don't agree with that thought process.:D

Hiring someone is not an option. The only option is to buy a tractor and do the work yourself, because only you know how to do the job right. Even if you don't know what you're doing. So many horror stories of paying folks to do a job and terrible, terrible things happening. It always costs more in the long run to hire it out to professionals. They often times run over the Mrs. car, or the family pet with their tractors - happens all the time.

You need to get your own tractor, for the safety of your family, your pets, your cars, and your neighbors. :D

You do NEED a tractor. It's a sacrifice you have to make. Believe me, you won't enjoy it at all, but it has to be done! ;)

Thanks... I know this was hard for you to tell me all that.;) You sound like you have been punishing yourself for a long time... What a sacrafice for your family.

I'd stick with the B based on this. With an acre of mostly lawn I'd want a machine that handled this chore the best along with the other stuff. Any small B will do that well. I'd get a mid mount mower.

You can definately do all of this with a smaller B than the 3030. Take a look at the B2630 as well as smaller Bs. On a property the size of yours, make sure you look for a machine that will fit in the areas that you would like to use it.

Ditto what canoetrpr said. A B-series should be fine. Even a B7510 or B7610 would be adequate and you might find a deal on those now. But the B3030 or B2630 should be fine and will give you more FEL lift than the smaller models as well as position control on the 3PH.

Big is nice, but if you're working around obstacles it can often limit what you do. Plus, staying out of trouble turns into a hassle.

With the size or your place I would definitly stay with the "B" series tractors, They are much more maneuverable than a "L" series tractor, I know this cause I used to have a B7500 and now have L2800 and want another B7500 to get in the places the L2800 can't without carnage to trees, building, vehicle...etc.

I agree with everyone else- go with a B series. I find myself wanting a smaller B then my B7800 rather then getting a larger tractor.

A B2630/BH75 combo would be sweet

Too late, he went with an L3400.

But I think I'm going with a B3030 with BH75 (that's a little sweeter than the 2630/BH75) :D

Northland, I agree that the B2630 / BH75 is a real sweet spot in the linieup if you don't live at a high elevation, or need the most PTO power. Isn't it the same physical size as your B7800 though? It would be my choice if I weren't going to mow finished yard........ and might be if I were. Alas, money, and the need for one tractor to do everything clouds the issues. :)
