I was getting ready this weekend to do my 50 hour service on my new tractor and while I was under the unit changing the motor oil I noticed a small drop of hydro fluid on the housing for the mid-pto. I wiped if off and finished servicing the tractor except for the hydro fluid. I ran the unit, engaged the pto, and then shut it down. I have let it set for a couple of days and see no signs of the leak. I have concrete floors in my building and can't stand leaks of any kind and never saw signs of a leak all mowing season. So, is this oil that was there all along due to a sloppy setup by the dealer or do I have a problem that needs fixing before I put in the expensive SUDT? Not that I don't trust my dealer, but my concern is that I replace the fluid with SUDT and then have to take it to the dealer and he winds up replacing my new expensive fluid with whatever he uses. I also don't want to have to pay for the hauling charge for him to come get it and take it to his shop which is 40 minutes away.
