Ok, I am about ready to drop the money on the pair and wanted to see if all of my haggeling has paid off. for the tractor with the FEL, 60" bucket, R4 tires and that dang radio they are so proud of for $21,300. That sounded pretty good to me but let me know If I can still get them lower.

Also the Woods BH80-X groundbreaker hoe with the thumb, 12" bucket and 4pt subframe mount for $6600. On the website, woods lists a hydrolic pump as an option. Do I need this with the b3030hsdc? Sorry for so many questions, I just want to make sure I cover everything. Thanks in advance, this forum is full of great info!!!

I don't know about the price. But let me tell you this for the backhoe: don't go for a 12". I have 16" on my BH75 right now and I had a 12" and a 24" on my former BX23. I'm in the process to get a bigger bucket for my BH75. For a BH80-X, IMHO 16" would be good size (minimum). ;)

Depending on how your tractor is setup with remotes and additional outputs. It may be easier for dealer to just order the PTO pump setup. His labor will be less and you will have a separate Hydraulic system to run the BH. My KubotaBH is set up this way. From what I have seen your price for BH is good. But not the best. May be the added cost for the pump and reservoir.

The tractor price is ok, its just a little more than i paid 8 months ago. Word around the campfire is kubota just had a price increase across the board.

well, I figure that with the 500 dollar rebate offered now, that is actually $20,800. I am going to go with it I think. Any more info on the necessity and reason that the hydrolic pump option would or would not be needed would be apreciated. I figure there is a reason they offer it but am not sure if I need it for my application. Thanks in advance.

Good choice, the 3030 is a real nice machine!

Jody:
Compare the GPM capacity of the optional pump with that of the B3030's onboard pump (the part that handles the hydraulics, not the power steering). If the capacity of the optional pump is greater, then it'll give you quicker hoe response than the onboard pump. Even if that's the case, the hoe may respond plenty fast enough on the B3030's pump for your application.

The optional pump would also let you keep the BH hydraulics segregated from tractor hydraulics. This might be good in the case of contamination or a blown hose.

Just picked this up from reading, Jody. I don't have a hoe....yet.

Thanks Bob, I'll check that out. If the search function was working, I am sure I could find all of this info in there. I'll research and post my findings when I get it sorted out. thanks for the input.
