Looking to upgrade from a Massey Ferguson GC2410. I am looking at Kubotas, the B3300 and L3800.
1) I need to mow approx 3 acres with a Landpride 1660 rear finish mower.
2) I need to plow snow for a 200 ft driveway.
3) I also need to rake hay with a NH 256 rake.
Mostly mow and plow. I really like the L3800 but it may be overkill for mowing and may be too heavy for my lawn. Just wondering opinions for mowing with the L3800 or raking hay with the B3300.

Any other models that would be suitable for all 3 needs feel free to throw them in also.
Thanks

I upgraded from a B7200 to a L3800. I had the same concerns as you. I decided to go with the L3800 thinking I could down size easier than trading up again.

No worries. It mows great, more power than I expected. It dosen't sink in to the turf, so far. I use a RCR60 Kubota mower that I had for the other tractor with no problem. It is a bit less manuverable. Maybe I just need to get more accustomed to the larger size.

I also got the R4's and loaded them. I'm a bit concerned about not being able to use chains(clearance problems) for plowingsnow. My drive has a slope that used to give me fits with the 7200"s loss of traction. Usually ended up plowing down hill only.

I don't hay but I think the 3800's got more than enough power to rake, may even run a baler!

itll pull the rake just fine.but it might be a tad small for pulling a square baler.id like to see how my MX5100 HST would do pulling a square baler some this summer or the bale accumalator or bale grapple.so i hope my buddy calls needing an extra tractor.

I have the L3700 and have a 6 foot rear mower that works great. Mow when it is damp or dry and it does not tear up the yard at all. I was surprised at how well it works as a mower, plus it should pull your rake just fine. I plow our 1/2 mile lane with ours no problem (Use a 7 foot rear blade).

Thanks for reminding me about the tedder. We just got a new Kuhn tedder, so a remote on the back will be useful. We have a 75HP NH for baling, so L3800 won't be baling. But it would be useful for raking, tedding and pulling wagons.
I'm happy to see other people mow with the L3800. The couple dealers I talked to seemed to say they thought it was too big.

But less than $3K difference between the B3300 and the L3800, seems the L3800 is a better deal.

In upstate NY is a block heater needed?

Thanks for your comments.

I use my B3200 to pull a NH 256 rake as well as a 2-rotor hay tedder. Works well for both, however I couldn't pull the rake well in 2wd with the R4 industrial tires that I originally had. With R1 ag tires it pulls it easily in 2wd now. I wouldn't pull much of a wagon with my little Kubota though, unless the ground was completely flat.
