Buying Advice B3300SU-HD

I'm looking at a used (12 hours) 2012 B3300SU-HD with FEL and blade for use at my cabin to clear trees and maintain my drive. Price is $14K which from what I can tell is reasonable. I'm told that the over two years of warranty can be transferred to me. My questions are whether that seems reasonable and if anyone knows what the HD stands for. I can't find anything on the internet or at the Kubota website. The current owner says it has heavy duty tires and is an anniversary edition. I'm certainly ok with that as long as it wasn't a lesser tractor than a standard one. Thanks in advance for your input/advice.

Where is this "HD" labeled? All the 3300's have bigger tires than the 3200 on which it's based. Have not heard of any anniversary edition. I have seen some 3300's listed as 3300SUHSDP, where the "HSD" refers to hydrostatic drive and I am pretty sure "P" refers to package. The "SU" is for "special utility" which denotes lack of mid-pto and other tweaks.

There is no additional label on the tractor. The HD was referred to in the ad. It does have the HST transmission. I know they paid $19,600 for it which I believe was the MSRP on the regular B3300SU at the time of purchase.

$14,000 is a good price. I would buy it ASAP if you are satisfied with its condition. Winter is the best time to be a buyer.

Heavy Duty tires probably means optional Industrial Tires, also known as R4's. Despite being optional, most B3300SU packages are sold with R4's, which are a little wider than ag tires, front and rear, and multi-ply, so support FEL loads better, wear better on asphalt/concrete are less prone to flats at the burn pile and are OK on lawns if the ground is dry.

R1's/knobby Ag Tires, have better traction in mud than R4's but few recreational users of the B3300SU will be using their tractors when there is mud out there. ((That is, after the first two weeks.))

All B3300SU packages include the HST transmission. I would stop worrying about "HD" I purchased MY B3300SU in February 2012 and I have never heard of HD in connection with this model, nor is there any kind of HD tag or decal on the tractor. Nor have I heard of an "Anniversary Model".

Jeff, thanks for the input. I will see it in person on Sunday and will hopefully tow it up to my cabin then. It is possible that the current owner meant HSD like "s219" said above.

Especially if you do not have experience mounting implements on the three point hitch, consider, early on, replacing Kubota factory "turnbuckle" "check chains" with pin-adjustable rigid stabilizers from Mark Hodge at Stabilworks.

You will be glad you did.

Bought it and got it up to my cabin. Lots of mag chloride on the road and splashed back on everything. Previous owner had waxed it up nice and so I think that helped me get it cleaned up nicely.

Cleared the foot of snow we got with no problem. First mistake was that I took it off the trailer and forgot the brakes were locked. When I cleared the snow the brakes made a very annoying sound and the power was limited. Once I unlocked the brakes everything was good.

You're not the first person to do that. I've done it on my BX23.
