Folks, I have an IH B414 Diesel with a BD154 engine. Mistake #1.... I was busy at work. So, I let someone else (a self-proclaimed diesel mechanic...) work on it. He removed the pump and injectors. I had the pump rebuilt (Delphi pump) and installed new injectors. When I got the tractor back it ran pretty bad.... So, I eliminated all the more obvious stuff. Finally, I took the timing cover off and the pump inspection cover. If I am reading the Service Manual correctly, when the timing marks match (which they don't) the letter E should be at the base of the clip in the pump (it's at D). I can't figure out how to move the timing gear (it looks to be off 2 teeth). Do I need to remove the pump? It looks like I may need to remove the whole front timing cover? Thank you!
