Kubota B5100
My belly mower belt broke. I have the new belt, but how to route it has been a mystery so far. Can anyone post a photo of the correct belt routing, please? I have seen posts about Woods mowers on these little tractors. Mine is Kubota. Not Woods, unless maybe Woods made all the decks for Kubota, didn't put their name on them, and then painted them orange.

First find the model on your deck. Should be a label or decal. If you cannot find it , a little web work should find the model of the deck on your B5100. Then the deck manuals might be available on line (and all you need is a diagram from one page.) HOWEVER, this may not be easy (or even possible) since your B5100 is a fairly obscure model and is over 41 years old. If this effort fails I'd get hold of Kubota of America and ask them to cough up a belt routing diagram.

Thanks. I did just now find an online parts drawing at Kubota USA which helps a little. Kubota dealer is a ways away, but I'll go back if it comes to that. Appreciate your help.

If nothing else works, maybe if you post a picture showing the top of your mower with the guards off someone can tell or show you how to properly route the belt.

Keep in mind that the pulleys are shaped for either the narrow V side of the belt or the wider backside of the belt. Often you can use the shape of the pulleys as a guide to figure it out. Seems like usually idler pulleys are on the backside (I think . . .). If you look at it with this in mind, you'll probably find that there's only one way for it to be routed.

PS — I find that it helps to drink a beer while sorting these out.

This isn’t great, but might help. Note that your belt will go around all the blade pulleys the same direction — the blades all turn the same direction. The only thing you can’t see under the shields in the pic are spindle pulleys on either end.

I know this isn’t your deck. (It’s mine.) just wanted to show a typical Kubota tension pulley setup.

Good luck with it.
