Hello folks,
New poster here.
I'm in the middle of old Kubota ROPS ****. I decided to take advantage of Kubotas ROPS promotion and a NY program that rebates much of the cost. I ordered the thing from my local dealer and got a bar (model 1060G) that is made to fit the B6100 series and others, and an adapter bracket that fits it to the B6000E. Well ok, so I started by fitting the bracket to the aft face of the differential, and with a bit of hole adjustment, it did fit. This thing is a flat plate with a couple of wings welded on, kind of like a piece of 10" channel. There is a hole for the pto shaft, and it's fastened to the four studs back there, two bolts above the pto shaft and two bolts that are on the lower 3 pt arm assembly. The problem is that the bracket is too wide for the upper 3 pt arms to pivot all the way down. This ROPS for the B6100 is a 2 post type with 2 pieces of 2" square tubing spaced about 3" apart that go up about 3' and are welded to the 3' square top piece. The mounting bracket is designed to mount on the sides of the differential and the lower pivot bar of the hitch passes through a hole at the bottom of the bracket. As designed for that tractor it's apparently a nice tight installation with the posts close to the rear of the differential. But, this lower part is supposed to fit inside the bracket that bolts on the back of the B6000E diffy, which interferes with the upper arms even more. Plus it's mounted about 6" aft of the 3 pt hitch pin plane, and supposedly the toplink passes in between the posts, which given the geometry, I can't imagine working.
After lot's of research, I found the Kubota customer satisfaction phone #, no hint of it on their website, guess they don't want to talk with customers. Got a woman that specialized in the ROPS program who was horrified that I was installing it myself, and said that if I had the proper bracket and the proper bar, it would fit perfectly. It would not be allowable to modify either the bracket, the ROPS, or the tractor. She said that if I brought it to the dealer for them to install, between them and Kubota they would come up with the correct parts. Well, that's where it is now. They took a look at the bracket and the bar and immediately saw the problem. So, I'll pick it up in a couple of days after they take another look and do some routine service, and I guess, try to figure out with Kubota what's going to work. It was evident in talking with the ROPS lady that they really, really want me to have a ROPS. It will be interesting to see how far they'll go toward doing it right.
So, does anyone else have (or seen) a ROPS on a B6000? How was it mounted and how did the hitch clear?
I apologize for the long winded post, kinda tough describing how everything (doesn't) fit.
