Hi first an intro first post here. We have a 7 acres hobby farm outside Williamsburg VA. Have some chickens goats on the way. Large garden mantained with my trusty 2554 Sabre.

For the tougher stuff the newly aquired B6100 with loader comes in.

Thats the one with the odd problem. I bought it 6 or so months ago, no first gear and the rest going. It is a manual. Previous owner said if you worked it hard it would blow oil out the blow by tube. I had the gearbox rebuilt and it ran great afterwords. Thought it would over heat trying to push that dying gearbox. It was real bad.

Now yesterday I was enjoying some seat time and ran it about an hour or so. Then noticed a trail of oil in the grass. Sure enough the bottom of the motor and front drive axle were soaked. I shut her down and called it a day.

Today went out, oil level is way up the dipstick and the gearbox is low on fluid.

I read once that a bad hydraulic pump could push fluid into the engine. And if your still reading(thanks) any thoughts? Rory

could be diesel in the crank....I would see if you could get the oil analized and see what you got. Might try testing the compression in each cyl and see what that shows....

Hopefully it is a simple fix.....good luck

One level low; the other level high ??

How do they interconnect?

I don't know how they connect? I read somewhere if the rear lift is too high it will pump into crankcase. Believe me I searched for where that came from and cann't come across it again. maybe it was pulled for being ridiculous?

Where would analize oil? Regelar car dealership? Oh the water level is the same too.
Thanks Rory

I bought a B6200D (1985) w/B1640 FEL & 3 PH that had not been maintained very well. After about 10 hrs use, the main driven shaft seal in the hydraulic pump failed and the hydra oil was sucked out of the transmission and forced into the crankcase which caused the crankcase to overflow & oil came out of the dipstick hole. The cure was to rebuild the pump by replacing all of the seals in the pump. Parts are available. This pump is difficult to remove/replace as a unit because of the mounting location. The 6 neoprene O rings & 1 mainshaft seal in the pump were all replaced. The internal bushings are precision fitted & can be difficult to remove & replace. Care must be taken. A new pump is about $300.00. There are .pdf files available of the parts & assy's. After repairing or replacing the pump, be sure that the engine oil & filter are changed and the transmission is refilled with UDF oil before running the engine. The 3 PH also uses the tranny oil. The oil filter for the tranny / hyraulic pump / 3 PH is in the tranny. See the .pdf files.

There was a post similar to this a while back, if I remember it was the pump seals need replaced as KB62 said.
I uploaded a B6100 parts manual here
Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice on the pump. I haven't had a chance to drain it and measure the amount of fluid in the crankcase yet. Or send it off for analizing. My local dealer will send it for 60.00.

After what I paid for the gearbox to be rebuilt from the previous owner running it low on fluid. (does sound like seals) I will have to wait a bit for some more financing to do this repair.

Should have listened to the wife, she said just get a new one.
