i am "considering" getting another set of tires and wheels for my B6100; it has turf tires on it now, which i like to mow with, but if the cost is not tooooo high, i'd like to be able to swap for traction. any suggestions/prices; has anyone done this??

When I first got my B6100DT from my father in law, it had Ag tires front and back. At his strong urging (he tipped it over once) I wanted to get some wider tires on it to increase the side-to-side stability. I looked into R4s and got a quote from the Kubota Dealer of $300 each for the rear tires and even then they weren't sure they could find rims that would match the tires and my bolt pattern (1978 vintage 6100). There was also the problem of front-to-rear ratio and the question of whether we could find a front tire to match the rear ones.
I ended up getting a set of rear turf tires on rims that match my bolt pattern that he had sitting "in the back". There were no rims for front turf tires that would match my bolt pattern. Fortunately, the ratio for my front Ag tires to the "new" rear turf tires seems to be fine and does not cause any gear binding.
I find the combination of front Ag and rear turf to give me all the traction I need. I don't mow with my tractor but use the FEL and rear tiller and blade. I've plowed snow with a 4' front blade on it to and never lacked the traction I need. If I ever needed to work in real muddy conditions, I could switch back to the Ags on the rear.
I'd bet that you could find a set of rear Ag tires/rims from your dealer for not much money. Check with the Sales floor for customer swaps on tires - not the parts department.
