Our precious B7100 has started making a really loud and nasty noise when disengaging gears. I lengthened and shortened the intermediate rod (as listed in the I&T shop manual) but the noise is still there and we really can't run the tractor. My guess is the release bearing is totally shot. Is this a doable job at home or is it a shop job? If so, how much will it cost to have a shop do the work? How much if I do it? If there's a fix without splitting the tractor would love to know. I could post a video on it but I'm not sure if this site supports it? Any help truly appreciated.

The tractor will have to be split.

Complexity of the job may be dependant on available tools and the skills required for their proper use.

People have done the job at home.

I took mine to the shop for the clutch work.
