Kubota B7800
I am going to look at a B7100 next week. It has a 60" MMM. It has a new head, rings, & bearings. Does anyone have any experience with this particular model? Is there anything in particular that I should look for? Would it be able to pull a brush hog? I have some fields that I like to keep cut. I cut once or twice per year. Thanks in advance!!

I had a B7100 for a couple of years. It is a fine machine and pulled a 4' bush hog and 4' box blade for me very well. Mine had a front end loader on it.

I would still have it if it had power steering. Kubota never put power steering on the B7100 so you cannot add it. Without the FEL it may be easier to steer but with a bucket full of dirt it was hard to steer.

I owned it from 800 hours to about 1,050 hours and never had a problem with it.

I put a spinner knob on it and that helped the steering some since it gave me a little more leverage or at least a something better to hang on to when steering.

BTW, Kubota built the B7100 from about 1980 until the late 90's. I read somewhere that they built the B7100 for more years than any other model. The earlier models had 4 lug nuts on the front wheels, later models had 6 lug nuts on the front wheels.

I sold mine in Dec. 2004 with the FEL, bush hog, and 1,050 hours on it and was in excellent condition, for $5,500.

Our B7100 HST has 2200 hours on it. The steering gear box was rebuilt a few months ago, The alternator [ it's called something else ] was replaced at 1000 ? hours.

Loader joystick linkages were replaced at around 1800 hours. The tractor has done a lot of loader work. Bucket has had a new cutting edge and botttom welded on. Loader frame has had most welds redone.

The bottom plate to which the front axle is attached has broken.

Hst has creep. Think it is linkages.

The 60 inch mmm works great.

Handles a 44 in. rotatiller.

Tractor has been worked hard and preformed well. Only complaint is no power steering.

The local dealer support is very good.

I'm very happy with the durability and ability for it's size.

My real complaint is the lack of a fuel gauge. This means the bottom of the fuel tank has to be inspected for debri more frequently than should be expected!!

Inherited my B7100 from my father-in-law this past fall when he passed on. I always enjoyed it when he would load it on the trailer and bring it to me from 120 miles away. I would do all the maintenance on the tractor and always treated it as if it were mine. It's a '93 and almost ready to turn 900 hours. Hasn't been enough snow so far this winter to scrape or get much use out of it, although, I have been caught a few times just riding around. I can't help but think that he is smiling as much as I am knowing the enjoyment I get out of it.

I have an older B7100, 1983, manual shift. Mine has 2000 hours. I have had it for almost a year. I plowed out of the blizzard a few weeks ago with a 5' rear blade and rear tire chains with no problem. This little machine is incredible for its size! I also use a 42" brush hog, a rear dirt scoop, a york rake, and a trailor hitch for towing a 4x8 trailor around the yard. I also have a front mounted snowblower (which I have't tried out yet). The older models were made in the 1980's and there were no original loaders for them, and aftermarket loaders are hard to find (I have only found two dealers and they are both west of the Mississippi), not cheap. The newer models can come with factory loaders and are easier to get loaders for.
