So my brother has a B7100, and he's trying to put in a block heater.
Dealer sold him one, but the adapter is too large for the freeze plug hole.
Current thought is to machine down the in-hand adapter to fit the hole.
Assuming a .001 to .0015 press fit, but does anyone know the dimensions of the *real* adapter? There is a taper on it.
Also, the depth that it'll go in to the block, appears to be too far. In machining, we can limit the depth the adapter can go in....

All dealers say "sorry, discontinued". Is there any other (non-custom) solution? Buy just the *correct* adapter?

Let me know your thoughts, and I'll pass it along.

Thanks!

Not sure about that heater but make sure that the heating element clears the block when it's fully inserted no matter what you do. You also might look at magnetic or hose heaters if the block heater doesn't work.
