Kubota B7100
I have a B7100 which has an hydraulic block in the pipe from the pump back to the transmission. I understand that this is for taking a power beyond tapping from the hydraulics. Has any one got a B7100 which uses this and if so could you tell me how it works and what I would need to get it to operate. It has what looks like a plug in the side, do I need to just take the tapping from there? any help would be gratefully received. yours a newbe owner /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Does what you are speaking of look something like this? This is the power beyond block on my Kubota L245. It was feeding a Kubota L1200 FEL.

Are you talking about the directional control valve which is right below the front of the seat and has a plug on the right hand side with a valve lever with arrow on it or the hydraulic block which is mounted just in front of the brake pedals?

If you do not have a FEL you might be able to use the
available plumbing in the block to add an (I'm assuming)
open center valve.

If you do have a FEL, you will need to place the new valve
in series with the current hard line from block to rear
hydraulic unit, and add a return line from the new valve to
the hydraulic tank. In this case it may be easier to
replace the hard line with hose: block to new valve's
pressure port, new valve power beyond port to rear hydraulic
unit, and new valve tank port to hydraulic tank.

In either case you may want to reference a service manual
for your machine before making modifications.

The block you are talking about is two pieces split vertically and held together with two bolts. Any hydraulic accessory that you get from Kubota comes with a new outer block which your plumbing(of the power beyond type) threads into. I'm not sure what the other plug is for but I don't believe it is for any hydraulic line use, but possibly a port for a pressure gauge?!

Hi
thanks for all your input re the hydraulic block. In reply to chief, it is not like your photo but is just a rectangular box of two halves which is built into in series with the line from the pump on the engine to the gearbox. It is entirely seperate from the changeover valve at the back. but is just as B2400 describes. the strange thing is that the FEL is not tapped into this but into the changeover valve in front of the seat which has also been changed to a screw in knob, moving it in or out directs the flow from rear 3PH to FEL. I would have liked to use the hydraulic block for tapping into to use as a seperate hydraulic line, but it looks as though I will need to find the other half of the block as B2400 described before I can use it. I will let you know if I find one. thanks for all your input, it is much appreciated

You may want to have another look at that front block.
I have seen some similar which have a 180-degree rotating
spool which either passes the flow through or redirects it
to (plugged, if currently unused) external ports.

Otherwise the block may be just a convenient place where the
line is broken for future use via the swapped outer block.
Sounds like you might just have a tank return connection
available in the existing or new block as well.

I will have to look at it over the weekend to see if I can find anymore info. I'm a little reluctant to split the block apart in case it leaks when it is put back together. As the tractor is old i can believe that it may be difficult to get parts for it, and while the tractor is working ok, thats one problem not on my mind /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

You didn't say what year your 7100 was but mine was a 1994 so i'm sure the parts will still be available. From what I've seen the 7100 series are all similiar. The block would allow you to use both the 3pt and any auxilliary hydraulic attachment. You might ask a dealer how the snow plow valves are plumbed as a 7100 that I borrowed from my dealer ran from the hydraulic block which you are talking about.
