New guy reporting in.

I recently bought an older B7100 and rmain amazed at this little feller.

Anybody got a line on or suggestion for finding a front snow blade?

Thanks

I see them every now and then on Craigslist. Use Search Tempest to get a wider geographic search.

I just use a rear blade on mine and use the FEL when I get into trouble. I have loaded tires, chains and front wheel assist.

Your B7100 is probably similar in size to my B6200? Maybe more hp?
Mine is 15hp engine, 4wd. I have been clearing snow with it using a 5' back blade for a few years. But it would be easier with a front plow but back blades are easier to come by.

I had B7100HST for 14 plus years and can't say one thing bad about it..except no power steering.

Have you consider attaching plow to the bucket

I don't have a FEL, but have seen pics of a dedicated snow/dirt blade.

It amazes me the power packed into this 17 HP tractor.
Also the features.

I bought it for mowing while rebuilding my Ferguson, but now intending to get more use from it.

I pull aand lift a 5 ft finish mower or a 4 ft chopper effortlessly.

No doubt, they are a great little tractor for the money. You are right, they do make a front mounted snow / dirt blade, but you'll need to look to find one. As I mentioned, I've seen them on Craigslist.

I too have a b7100 diesel,
which I purchased new in 1986 with 300 hours on it. They are great little tractors, and now with 1100, hard hours it still runs great. I too have the rear blade, which works fine.I stayed away from the front blade attached to the FEL,due to the following reasons

In the last few years I have had trouble with the FEL bolts, stripping out on the frame. The FEL has been used a lot, but retapping the holes with new bolts ,has fixed the problem. I think the bolts came loose and I did not notice the problem until too late. With the FEL and a blade ,there is too much wieght out there, with no power steering

The only other problem was the steering box.

With the FEL there is way, too much load on the bearings, on this design of steering box. Also, if the tractor is left in the rain, water can leak into the steering box. When this happens the Upper thrust bearings fail, on the steering shaft, and the ball bearing fall into the Rack and pinion and destroy the gears.

Change the Steering Box gear oil often and make sure the little hole drilled into the base of the steering column is clear with no dirt in it.Just cost me 400.00 to rebuild mine, and the steering shaft is hard to get ,as a replacement part.

Good luck with your tractor, with the right maintenance it will give you years of good service. Pacific Pete and the crew

I have posted earlier about the ATV snow plow & winch I adapted to my 1980 B7100. You can pick one of these up used much cheaper than a bona fide Kubota front blade (mine was $100, winch was $40). I made the bracket to mount it to the tractor using $8.50 worth of 1.5" tubing & a couple pieces of 1/4" x 4" plate. It retains the original quick-detach mounting system & I can mount it on a ATV if required. Used it for the last 4 or 5 snow storms & still working great. Here is a link to some photos.

First blade was acquired in a trade & was home made to fit a tractor like mine & attached to the hitch under the PTO. Worked good but didn't angle. As it is a strong, heavy blade I am going to cut the frame off & build a rear blade for my 3 point.
