Hi all,

Hopefully the ever-useful community can help out an owner in distress once more :)

I have a few questions, so please bear with me!

1) Engine oil - I have the bizarre situation, whereby the volume of oil in the engine increases!!! I can only assume that diesel is getting into it somehow (even though it doesn't seem unduly thin, nor smell of diesel gas). Any ideas how - fuel injection pump leaking into crankcase perhaps (or is that even possible??). Definitely not water - no emulsion in the oil.

2) I'm using Massey Ferguson 10W-40 HC Super in the engine which was recommended by the local agricultural merchant. Does this sound ok?

3) Whilst I know it's hard to give a definitive 'safe' operating angle due to the variety of implements and their effect on the CofG, but our land ranges between 10 and 20 degrees, with most about 15. We run it with a FEL and use a flail from the 3pt - does this sound 'safe' (we use an inclinometer on the tractor too)

Thanks for any advice!

Can't help on the diesel in the oil situation.

I put about 2000 hours on my B7100 on terrain with slopes as you have mentioned without capsizing!:D

How's the level of the transmission oil? It might be possible that the 3pt pump on the right side of the engine is cracked or something and leaking oil into the engine. This would explain why it doesn't smell like diesel.

Hmmm... tricky to say how quickly it's rising simply because it's my father in law who's using it (in France!) and is reporting back to me!

I reckon it's after a couple of hours use.

I'll get him to check the transmission oil level too to see if it could be the culprit?

Most perplexing!

Same thing happened to me last year, changed out the fuel pump and no more problems. If you tear your gasket when you remove the pump, cut a new one from a cereal box. Very easy fix, took me about 10 minutes.

Good Luck!
