I recently purchased a 1989 B7200 with FEL. While it has decent power to the loader it seems a little weak. If I use the bucket to lift the front up it has trouble pulling the front wheels off the ground. It seems like the pressure builds up and is then released and it loses power. Maybe a pressure relief valve, but I am not sure where to find that. I would appreciate any input and welcome pictures.

1st you need to check the max pressure then go from there. The relief valve should be in the loader valve if it's the 1st valve from the pump.

Plum in a gauge and check that? I figured it wouldn't hurt to pull the valve first and inspect and clean it. I don't have a gauge to test it with.

Thinking it might be a valve issue. It will lift the front easily with the bucket being curled or extended, but can't do it with just pushing down.

I would say that sounds normal set the bucket up on a pile and then push straight down and see how it lifts if not then it may need some investigating.

FWIW...
I have a very similar tractor: B1700...it does the same as far as lifting the front with the loader (bucket position) but no leakage or hesitation...

It will not lift it by pushing straight down only. Has plenty of curl power and good lifting power but little down force.

I have been using the tractor a bit around the property and it has been working well. The hydraulics seems to have more power once its warmed up a bit. Thinking about changing the fluid and filter in the next few weeks however to see if that helps some.

On a different note, I found that the rear differential housing is cracked on the back plate right by the PTO output. It leaks a little bit of fluid which is how I found it. No idea if I cracked it or if its been that way. Thinking about just having it welded as it doesnt seem to bad.
