I need to know what type of shear bolt is used at the pto. ( size length and grade) B73 snowblower

The conversion is to a SAE Grade 5 bolt.
Do not use an SAE Grade 8!!!

I have the manual just gives a part #
That doesn't help much, does it?
I suggest you use a grade 5 the same diameter of what is (or was) in your snow blower.
My blower (a Frontier/Deere brand) uses two shear bolts...both grade 5's. One is 1/4" diameter (probably a 1/4-20). The other is a bit bigger (maybe 5/16th's)...can't recall the thread.
If you still have the bolts that are (were?) in your snow blower, take them to your local hardware store and get a few of each. get the best fit diameter and length (nuts too, if you need them).
I also suggest you write down the size and grade in your manual for future reference

This attached page from Ber-Vac translates some part numbers to real bolt sizes and grades.
I suspect the owner has mis types the actual model he has and perhaps it is a 74
*PN 657199-10MM X 55MM GRADE 8.8
There are other 74 blowers with different shear bolts

His manual that he posted a picture of does show it as B-73. Kind of odd that that model is not showing up in the Ber Vac info though.

I did some on line searching for the owners particular model.
I think the reason it is not listed in the Bervac material I provided is because the blower is very old.
I say this because it has a 3 blade fan. All their new models come with 4 blade fans

He needs the pto shaft shear bolt it would not be difficult to try a few different diameter bolts to determine if the bolt is SAE or metric and what diameter. It will be easier than it looks because on the list of bolts for newer blowers, except for a few 1/4" sizes which are for much narrower blowers, 5/16 or 8 mm are predominant and in reality those two sizes are the same diameter shaft shear bolt.
