Well hooked up my brothers only single bottom plow to my B7500 and after a few adjustments and a bit of learning I'm even more impressed with the power of the B7500.
Amazing little machines...

I usually just till my garden but after 3 years decided I may try turning it over and working up the deeper soil...not sure if it'll help but got a couple extra hours of tractor time.

I'll till the garden and lay off rolls this week and get some beans, corn, cucumbers etc in the dirt... SEEDS... I have a 1/2 lb of last years greenbean seeds will they still be okay to plant?

INTERESTING! how aggresive did u have it set and what were the ground conditions? being it was your garden there pobably was no sod right? was thinking of getting one for my b2400 and wondered how that would do with a single bottom.

I think the manner in which they are stored has a lot to do with it. A more experienced gardener can say better than I. John

Check your seeds for germination.

Take about 6 or or so, soak in water for several hours, wrao in damp cloth, place all in plastic bag and store in a nice warm spot. Check in about four days and following days to see if they have sprouted. Chances are they will be fine.

I've used seeds that have been many years older with no problem.

Like Egon, I've used seeds a lot older than that with no problem. When I planted, I put left over seeds in coffee cans with the lids on, and saved them for the following year.

It's just good ole dirt, lots of clay in the mix. It brakes up okay, I'm sure a heavy dose of lime couldn't hurt and the past couple years been tilling under some winter wheat and adding leafs from the yard.
I'm sure I could have had it more agressive to throw the dirt, but it turned it over fine for me.
I know today I tilled it so to start the garden this week and it tilled easier than ever!

Thanks Egon.

You've inspired me. I'll run down to Lowes and get one of those little peat moss planter kits..... That way if they sprout I can just transplant them. Also, been wanting to try a few other veggies.... peppers!!

Update.

The seeds... Got one of the little planter things and tried about 10 different seeds from last year and 9 sprouted. Now, I love those little planter thingys!

The plowing.
After tilling the garden I was amazed on how deep I can till. I tilled deeper on one pass than I did on two passes in previous years. I hadn't really thought just how deep a plow, ah, plows.

I'm pretty sure that next year will be a tilling year and every other year a plowing year...then again I may plant a hardy crop of winter cover of some type and plow it under for the 2005 garden...ya know a little more seat time.
