Has anyone experienced the following issue:

I went to pick up my B7500 from my Dad's house today. He told me that the power down on the FEL wasn't working. Sure enough, I tried it out and the only way I could get the FEL to lower down was to push the stick all the way to the float position.

I loaded the tractor on the trailer and brought it home. When I unloaded it, the power down was mysteriously working now. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I worked unloading a trailer full of manure for an hour or so and never had one issue with any of the loader functions. Since the loader now worked fine, I dismissed the earlier problem.....

When I was finished, I pulled the tractor into the shop and guess what, the loader power down didn't work. I jiggled the stick in all directions, moved the tractor forward and backward, lifted/dropped the 3 point, but it still wouldn't work. I again pushed the stick to the float and dropped the bucket.

Anyone have an idea what the issue might be??

I had a similar problem one time. I have a BH on my B7500. If you accidently hit the 3pt. lever to the raise postition, it will just work the pump continuously. Because the 3pt. cannot raise, due to the BH, it doesn't hit the detent that releases it. So, it robs the hydraulic pressure from the FEL, which took away the dump and down function from the FEL. Could your 3pt. lever be stuck in the up position?

Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding....

GregJ had the very simple answer to my complex problem. Boy, do I feel silly. I've gotten used to driving my big tractor over the winter and you don't have to push the 3 point raise lever back down after you raise it all the way. With the B7500, after the implement is raised completely, you need to slip the lever back to the middle.

I guess the way the hydraulics are plumbed only affected the down power because everything else worked fine. Now, I hope it hasn't damaged the hydraulic pump being stuck all the way up /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

This forum is a great place to bounce ideas off of fellow tractor owners. Thanks to all who responded.

Ocaj11,
You may still have a problem. The 3pt. lever should go back to center automatically when it gets to the top. The only reason mine didn't was because the BH stays in a fixed position. It will not allow the 3pt. to raise. If I have any other implement on it, when it reaches the top, the lever goes back to center. There is an adjustment that can be made on that if it doesn't do it automatically.

Hope this helps,
Greg

Thanks Greg,

I didn't remember the lever acting like that before. I probably need to grease something underneath or make the adjustment mentioned. I'll get out there this evening and figure that out...

Thanks for the help.
