I've had my tractor for almost 20 years and it has always been reliable. Yesterday I parked it and today it will not start. Thanks to this forum I have troubleshot the safety switches and found the clutch switch plug broken and not connected. There is also a wire disconnected from the solenoid that I assume connects to the switch. The issue I have is that the wire from the starter has a single contact and the one off the switch has two contacts. For the life of me I can not figure out where the plug goes. Does anyone have a picture of that connection? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, since you've had the machine all those years... the simple answer is the plug goes to something it will reach... the hamfisted way forward is find out what that wire and connector from the solenoid will reach and plug it in... maybe not the brightest but maybe the easiest.

On some of the newer compacts the solenoid is not getting the 12v it deserves at starting time and people have resorted to A) installing a replay to direct inject a solid 12v by triggering that relay with the signal from the starter and feeding the relay with direct 12v from the plus cable. Or B) Others have realized the switch is just a nuisance that does not really prevent theft and they have put in a "starter button" that simply routes a good 12v momentarily from the plus cable to the solenoid. That would probably work in your case in lieu of restoring things to original shape.
