For you guys with B7500's, how do you like the quality of the cut of the mid mount mower? I have both a BX2200 and a new B7500, but let me tell you the quality of the cut with the BX2200 does not compare to the B7500. The B7500 deck is too heavy and it leaves too many wheel marks and does not cut as clean as the BX. I am so disappointed with the B7500 cut, I would almost trade the machine for another mower.

I have learned that Kubota has a real winner with the BX2200. Also, I have noticed that the B7500 does not steer as easy as the BX and seems to hestitate or drag when turning for a split second. Has anyone noticed this with their B7500?

Any comments would be appreciated!

Jon,

I have a 7500 but run a rear finish mower. Very pleased with the cut.

I too have noticed a split second pulsating feel when I turn but only when mowing. I have never felt it during any other operations.

Jon,
I also have a rear finish mower. I learned from here that the MMM on the B7500 and B2410 aren't the greatest for cutting. The rear discharge RFM works great. Would probably be less expensive than trading for a BX2200, but you never know until you check into it.
The BX is supposed to be an excellent cutting machine, especially if you have a lot of obstacles like trees.
As far as the steering, I have not experienced anything unusal. Mine is smooth as butter.

If my main task was mowing a lawn, the BX is the best choice of the Kubotas. Only if you have lifting/hauling tasks that are beyond the BX capabilities would you go to a B7500 or larger.

I only have a rear rotary cutter on my B7500, and it works just dandy for my purposes; but I have a low threshold of pleasure when I mow; lawns are the devil's work. If I mow more than twice per year it is too much.

My B7500 has no hesitation whatsoever; she just humms along.

Jon, hey register why not? OK did you say you have a BX and a 7500?????!!!!! I have a BX and a B2410! Did I read that right. Yep--I have come to the same conclusion as you, the guage wheels ground contact MMM used on ALL--ALL Kubota tractors except for the BX and a 54 inch MMM also available for the smaller Kubotas are way inferior to the suspended MMM on the BX. I am beginning to get the hang of my MMM on the 2410 but it takes different technique and the PC is extremely handy for momentarily "suspending" the MMM. I have also spent a lot of time thinking through the MMM on the 2410 and have it adjusted the way I like it and not exactly how the manual says to do it and now it is cutting pretty decent I have to say. One trick is to set the front links up so that some of the weight is carried by the tractor and not all of the decks weight is on the tiny castors.
Some peope do not like lawns but mankind and Western civilization has had a long affair with the lawn and it still makes sense in the right setting. J

Jon, having only 10 hours on my 7500HST and nothing to compare it to, I haven't noticed anything unusual with any hesitations or pulsating feelings while mowing. The RFM does a "looks good from the road" mowing job and that's good enough for me.

I have owned my B7500 HSD with MMM for eight months now and cut my grass (approximately two acres of it) quite a few times. My lawn is very hilly and has several large gardens and quite a few trees within it. I also have a very long driveway that goes through my woods with a skirt of grass along most of the driveway. Because of the hilly nature of my lawn, I tend to run the tractor in 4WD most of the time, including while grass cutting. I have to get in and out of tight areas, and there are a few wide areas where the grass is more expansive. Doing all of the above, I am extremely happy with the cut I get. The 4WD tears up the grass a little (turf tires) but very minor. The gauge wheels leave very minor marks that disappear almost immediately - - though I often cut with the deck lowered enough only so that the wheels barely touch the ground. I find that the cut is very clean, and very even. As far as power and torque are concerned (even going up my steepest hills - - approximately 20 degrees), I have never felt short. Bottom line - - I am extremely happy with my Kubota. It is a workhorse when running the FEL, snowblower, landscape rake, etc. that I also use it for - - and it is great for cutting grass.

Trescrows,
Yes, I have both a BX2200 and B7500. I am going to try and setup my MMM per your suggestion.
Thanks for the help.

I've had my B7500 HSD now for about 2 months and have not encountered any problems with either cutting or steering. It's a very smooth operating machine. I've found the answer is to keep trying different settings and adjusting the deck to your terrain. You don't have to follow the book exactly. Since everyone has a different turf you just have to find what's right for you. The BX220 and the B7500 are great machines. Don't give up on the B7500 until you try different settings.
