Hello,

I just purchased at 2005 B7510. I noticed that there is a slight sound in the front left tire area when I move forward in 2WD only. It's only there when I move. It almost sounds like something is rubbing. I can't really tell where it's coming from.

It does not occur when I am in 4WD. Also, when in 2WD, it doesn't occur in reverse. Only froward 2WD.

I did not hear it when I looked at the unit before purchasing it. Possibly because I had the RPM up enough to hide the noise.

Is this something normal or should I have the dealer check it out? I'm wondering if this is something free wheeling normally in 2wd?

Thanks,
Joe

I don't know your specific model, but no, that doesn't sound normal. Was it a used tractor from a dealer? Any warranty? If not, I would jack the front axle up and rock the tire back and forth to see if there's any play. No oil leaks in that area?

If you have a loader or other way to pick up the front end, rotate the tires by hand and see if you can reproduce the noise. That should help isolate the source. I agree that it is not normal.

I bought a new B7510HST with the LA302 FEL in 2005 and kept it for 3 years before trading up to a much larger tractor (Mahindra 5525). Never noticed any funny noises from my Bota.

If the noise is bothering you, get it to the dealer for a checkup. If your tractor has a FEL, the previous owner may have caused some front axle damage operating in 4WD while using the FEL.

Good luck.
