I’ve read a few posts on TBN that said the limiting factor on the larger B2710/2910 and MMM was the deck belt...they said it would squeal before the engine lugged down in tall wet grass implying the engine had more power than the deck could use. I’ll assume these belts and spindles were in good condition.....an unknown.

In my opinion the B7510/7610 IF equipped with the same loaders, performance between the two should be the same loader wise (obviously Kubota does not officially offer the same loaders but I was thinking aftermarket). The 7610’s torque should be stronger if one were to use a rear mounted 72” finish mower or 5’ rotary.

QUESTION:

If ones primary focus between the two is on MMM performance is there any noticed difference between B7510 and B7610 MMM performance (other than obviously the suspended deck on Turf Special).

Has anyone with a B7510 with belts and spindles in good condition ever squealed the deck belt thus making the extra power of the B7610/2410 not usable in a MMM application?

I'll offer some insight on my experience with the 7610. I never experienced belt squeal in any of the mowing that I've done. Frankly, I have not experienced any problems while mowing in low range - it just eats everything up. I have, on occasion, had the tractor bog down while mowing in high range but I just slowed down and everything was OK. Only one time did the tractor ever stall while getting into the heavy stuff at high speed. I probably do 75-80% of my mowing in high range since I have about 5 acres to cut on a regular basis. It would take FOREVER to do it all in low range.

Thanks, I think that answers my question. If you were able to bog the tractor in extreme use and the belt didn’t slip then the extra torque and HP of the 7610 is useful for MMM.

Not sure if I was clear originally. I was wondering if the extra power of the B7610/2410 was wasted on a MMM application.

I would think (and others here can correct me if I'm wrong) that if you plan on using a 5ft rotary cutter (opposed to a 4ft) and a 72" rear finish mower (opposed to a 54" or 60"), I'd definitely go with the 7610. In fact, I'd think that in the 5' rotary and 72" finish mower case scenereo, you might be better off with a 7800. (a "basic" tractor like the 7510/7610) I'm looking into a rotary cutter for my 7610, and have been told here (and read others also) than a 4ft cutter is a better match if you're even thinking of whacking into any rought stuff. A 5ft cutter would be fine as long as the brush is not too thick or dense.

That said, I have a 60"MMM for my 7610 and it handles any kind of grass I thow at it with ease. 2ft tall hay is no prob. I do live with some pretty steep hills, and because of that, like previously pointed out, I need to use Low range on occation. I certain is is due to my steep hill though, and think it'd still be a piece of cake in Hi range if the field was flat.
