Very new to the site and the tractor world, I have been looking at few the last couple of months and have a few questions..

I will be mowing about 6 acres of grass in VA and have been looking at the above tractors. I can get a used B7510 with 50 hours or go new with the BX model after setup would be about the same price. What are the pros and cons of going one way or the other?

Thanks

First of all WELCOME ABOARD!

It will be easier for members to help you out if you fill out your profile as well as give a little more description of your property type and potential other uses besides mowing.

But to start things off, this may help.

I think most will say that the main reason to go with a 7510 over the BX is the ground clearance if your in rough terrain, stronger hydraulics and full Cat 1 hitch.

The BX are great mowers and very versatile machines. If your primary role is mowing and you don't have a lot of woods to navigate around in then the BX will most likely suit your needs. Another plus for the BX if you have hills is that it sits lower to the ground so feels more stable in most peoples view.

Good luck with your search.

Your mowing 6 acres of grass.

The BX1530 only comes in a 54" deck size max.
The BX1830 will allow you a 60" deck size max in a mid mount mower style. The acronym is (MMM)

I don't know the size of the 7510 but will it come with some mower size in the price?? I think (not 100% sure) you can get a 72" MMM for the 7510

IF you decide that a BX is the best option forget about the 1830 and go up to a 2230. The price difference you'll find is so little that it makes little sense to buy an 1830.

Go to Kubota's web site, look over the spec's, read this forum in great detail and ask these types of questions and you'll be well informed in no time.

Slide on down to the Kubota section and read through the posts there.

I have a B7500, it is more tractor-like than an BX. Many other features make the machines very different from the B to the BX. The intended use would determine which machine would fit the need.

B7500, more ground clearance, seperate power steering pump, no issues with three point hitch lift arms, increased wieght capacity of front end loader with LA302,

BX2200, better at mowing grass on nice lawns.

01rdkng,

As a side thought, if you are mowing a nice lawn rather than a yard (which is what I have) and if you don't need the utility that a tractor offers in ways other than grass mowing, you might want to consider a zero turn mower (ZTR).

They are wonderful at what they do...some have drive wheels the same size as a Kubota BX...but they are not tractors...

Welcome to TBN by the way. If you try the search function you will find more info on the tractors you are interested in that you will believe. Be sure to set the date range greater than the default if you do try it. Enjoy. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

On the used you pay interest on new with 0% financing there is no interest. This factor can make used cost more than new.
Also what about the no warranty issue on used?

============

I would not even consider the BX1500 and BX1830 although I would love to have one of them with a rear tiller and a front dirt blade to complement my BX23, however I would not want either one of them as my only tractor.
For a BX model I would go with A BX23 or the BX2230. Personally I prefer the BX23 do to the BH.

As for a B Series I would go with a The B7610 or the B 2410.

You're looking at some expensive mowers, if that's all you want to do with a tractor. I agree with Henro.

I test drove a B7510 and BX1830. The BX1830 didn't feel much of a step up from my Gravely, except for having that tiny bucket. It was awful stiff and tended to almost get stuck on a tiny slope because it lifted one wheel off the ground (going across at an angle). The B7510 was much more flexible and didn't get stuck on that tiny abrupt slope.

I went with a JD 4010 though. It and the B7510 were exactly the same price. I didn't need the extra 2 hp that the B7510 has. The B7510 had a folding ROPS; whereas, the JD would fit inside my carriage house doors with the fixed ROPS. Love my 4010. Didn't like the controls on the Kubotas. The JD dealer is so much closer for me, too.
