6 year old, B7510, with fel an brush hog, hst, 175 hours, went for $10,901 just now on ebay: i guess i am just to tight: when you get that close to the price of a new one, an theres 0% interest involved: i go with the new one rather than have to lay out the whole 10.9K all at one whack.

I agree, the 7510 is a fine machine & 175 hours is very low, but 10 9 for that is high. 8 9 is more realistic perhaps even 7 9 in this economy.

Fully agree. My ride (240 hrs?) in my sig w/o backhoe and pallet forks went for 11.5 and it's a great trailer.

I kinda prefer to buy new even if there is a good deal on a used one but... have you priced tractors lately? The closest thing to the 7510 now would be the 2320 and I just priced them before I bought my 2620. For the 2320HSD and FEL I got quotes from 13.6K - 14.5K. Throw in another $500-1000 for a cutter. And that doesn't include any fees like tax, insurance, etc. Not that I would pay 10.9K for that tractor but the price might not be as bad as you think.

I would still pay the extra 2 grand and get a new rig @ 0% apr. Keep it mind its 6 years old & the 10 series is out of production?

I agree with you 100% pricing for a new machine with 0% financing might be the best way to go. Laying out that kind of cash would be difficult compared to using someone else's money for the loan period!

Considering you will also have the new equipment warranty and dealer assistance is worth a whole bunch.

I sold my B7510 last fall with 280hrs/FEL/MMM/5ft rake. I would have laughed at that price and would have kept the machine instead. But I'm one of the fewer and fewer lucky people who still have a job.

I agree I would buy new also. But by the time you bought a new one with a cutter, insurance, tax, etc. it would be more like $5k more than what that one sold for. But you'd be paying cash or financing at 8% or so through a bank. I just don't think the price was too out of line... it was obviously worth that amount to somebody!

would you pay 5K less for a six year old car instead of getting a new one?? one thing has become apparent to me about used tractors over the years: the year model an power steering do not matter.......to the seller.....

I base my opinion on #1 facts already stated in this thread, #2 having purchased a B7500 new in 2000, #3 having sold my B7500 (700 hours) in 2005. You cant compare used cars to used tracrors & the selling price was no deal.
