I have read so many posts about what implements people have and was wondering if I was limited to a 4 foot tiller for my B7610 or if I could go a little bigger. The dealers in my area have mostly said that I would be limited to 4 foot tiller because of the weight, but I I see others on TBN showing off their implements I notice that there are a lot of you out there that have 5 foot tillers for the B7500 and the B7610. Also, I guess I have the same question for a Brush hog.

Understand that a lot of people push their equipment beyond the manufacturers recommendations. So many people will put a 60" tiller when the tiller manufacturers will recommend something much smaller. The users will say you can just make 2 passes and do them at 1/2 depth.

Personally, I use a 50" LandPride on a 24hp (18PTO hp) tractor and that is in line with what 4 different tiller mfg's recommended for my size tractor.

Implement size is so often dictated by individual conditions that it is hard for a manufacture to give recommendations that apply to everyone. Quite a few of the Kubota owners here have found that the company implement size recommendations tend to be conservative. You can't blame them for avoiding problems with customers that push to the limits their tractor and implement use.

A rule of thumb that has floated around the forum for rotary mowers is 5 PTO hp per foot of mower. Of course if you are cutting power lines full of saplings once every 5 years you will do better with much more hp. If it is a smooth area with field grass that is cut once a week you can get by fine with less hp and a larger cutter. I'd bet a larger tiller in Florida sand would work fine but would have a heck of a time in the summer if you have that Texas clay that could use dynamite for a first pass. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Given the efficiency of Gear Drive Tillers you could accommodate a 58" CCM tiller.
