While removing snow with the B7800 tractor I noticed a little fluid trail coming from the tractor. I pulled the tractor in the garage and noticed that the bolts from the Front Assembly Holder were out and it was hanging there. Luckily I found the bolts that were holding it up in the driveway. The question is the assembly holder has the thrust collar in it and it will not slide over the axle collar. What is the easiest way to re-install the assembly holder?

Thanks in advance

I know you know what you are looking at but you have me a bit confused. Is it on the front of the driveshaft?

No, I am truly a novice just learning the hardway. Hopefully the pics will help.
There is a pic of the Assembly holder and the other pic is the front of the tractor where the assembly slides on the front axle collar.

It looks like the collar in the axle some how has to be centered up. I'd say you need to get ahold of a service manual to see how to reinstall it. You might want to reinstall the bolts with loctite this time. It seems unusual that those bolts would fall out.

It should slide right back on! I'd put the pieces onto the shaft and slide the housing over it to install it.

I would wonder as to shy it came loose, does the tractor shift in and out of four wheel drive easily?

It shifts in and out of 4 wheel easy. The darn thrust collar is in the assembly holder and does not slide out. I did not want to force it. Its that silver piece in the assembly holder.

If that trunnion cap or the crossmember it bolts to has dowel pins in addition to the bolts, you will probably have to loosen the rear trunnion housing as well.

you may try and lift the front of the tractor up. this will allow the axle assembly to move a little. the cap should then go after you center the axle.

Thanks DWW68 your suggestion worked great. I used the FEL to lift the front end up and the assembly holder slid right on. Unfortunately one of the nuts welded on the frame is reamed out and won't let the bolt tighten up. I probably will get a longer bolt and another nut to take care of the problem.
