I have about 14 hours on my B7800 and this last tank of gas the gauge is reading full all the time while on.I have been using a plastic 2 handle blitz can to fill the tank with a short drain, wide mouth funnel.

When the machine is off the gauge reads empty. Then when I start the machine it goes right to full. What's up with this gauge????
Thanks

Sounds like it may be a broken/loose ground on the sensor.
It's B7800 it's under warranty still. Have the dealer fix it.

It shouldn't matter what you fill the tank with but you have fuel gauge. It's not a happy 'Bota when you put gas in the diesel tank.

You beat me to it: I was gonna make a "funny" about the gas thing.... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Check both ends of the sending unit wire - both at the tank and behind the guage. The connectors are usually push-on or clip-on and may have worked loose

Mark:

I'm curious. Did you find the problem with your fuel gauge?

By the way, how do you like your Woods backhoe on your B-7800?

I'm thinking about a similar arrangement. Waiting for a reply to my e-mail from Bob Wolff.

Gary,

Some friends of mine in CT just bought a 7800 with ATI quick detach bucket, pallet forks 6'RFM, and the Bradco 3375 BH from Bob. We looked at the B7800 with the 3375 at another dealer and it looked very good then ended up with Bob as he is just a nice guy to deal with and makes an effort with custoomers. Their unit is to be delivered 5/15-17 timeframe.

Bob has the Woods 7500 in stock and the Bradco units the diff being $550 range with the Bradco being more.. But I have looked at both setups and prefer the Bradco since it has a 4 point saddle for the BH subframe that attaches to the rear axles and also under the tractor to the frame rails. So this subrame doesn't come off like the Woods since it is integrated to the tratcor like much like my B21TLB.

Other features are the Bradco uses tractor hydraulics (which are capable), fits tighter to rear (less overhang and cantilevered length) has twin pistons vs chain swing cylinders etc.. Also ground clearance is not impacted by the subframe like on the woods setup.

Removal of this BH is nearly the same as the B21TLB - an easy 5 minute job and same for replacement.

Now the Woods 7500 is a very good BH and many have them, so you would not go wrong with either. So, if you speak to Bob ask him about the Bradco and these points.

I bought my unit from Bob and he made suggestions that were different than what I originally was requesting. I went with his suggestions and am very satisified with my machine and greatful for his help and opinions. He has been there for all my follow-up questions. Being new to tractors there have been several questions!

I found the problem with the fuel gauge, The wire clip came off and it was a matter of me putting it on and making sure it snapped in.

As far as the backhoe I love it. Mine like pondkeepers use the tractors pump instead of having a seperate PTO pump. With 16 hours on my machine right now I am just getting the whole Backhoe concept. I have removed some huge stumps and buried some big rocks. For me it's frustrating to get the smoothness instead of the jerkyness out of the hoe.

Bob took good care of me and pondkeeper, when I explained the fuel gauge problem to Bob he said he would be down next week no questions asked. He is also going to drop off a set of ATI forks for me to move logs around with.
