I had a weld on my left lift link break twice since I bought my mower new two years ago. The weld broke clean at the arm. My dealer welded it for me last year. It just broke again last week. I had a local guy weld it. He has been welding for 30 years & suggested that the original weld from the factory wasn't done properly - a metal issue. His weld looks better than the matching weld on the other arm. Has anyone else had any issues? My other arm has been fine. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

Your local guy, he's probably correct.

One can deposit weld metal all day long in a joint, but if molecular cohesion is not achieved, there lies a weakness. It can be from lack of penetration, poor weld prep, poor surface cleaning, etc....
