Hi,

Went to move a pallet of firewood with 3pt and the frame of a carry-all.
(used like a forklift) Wouldn't even make it budge. Used the front loader which did the job nicely.

According to the manuals, I believe The 3pt is supposed to have a greater lift capacity than the loader. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be wrong with the 3pt? It seems to work well with other loads, like a 5' bush hog.

Help?

It might be that pallet is too heavy, especially if the 3ph can lift a 600 lb cutter.
Since you probably have no way to weigh the pallet of wood, you can try to lift it. If it won't lift, pull some of the wood off (say, 10%) and try again. Continue removing about 10% until the 3ph can lift the pallet. Then you'll have an idea what your 3PH can do. That wood may be wet and that may make it heavier then you estimate...especially if you could lift that pallet during the summer (when it's drier).
It is possible the relief valve is set wrong and is venting the hydraulic fluid at too low a pressure.
