My b8200 seems to be getting water in the tranmission fluid I've replaced the fluid and it still seems to be getting water in it.

Also the three point hitch only works after its warmed up for 30 minutes. Any ideas?

I have a B8200. My questions would be where is it stored? Is the seal good on the hydrualic dipstick and filler cap?

Those are the only places for water to come in.

If you have had water in the system, it probably needs to be flushed and double flushed. Also, replace the filter. While you are at it, make sure the strainer is spotless clean.

If your filter or strainer is clogged, it would restrict flow. If you have a loader, is it working ok?

There is also a control knob under the seat for the 3pt, but it controls how fast the 3pt drops, not raises. You may want to check it anyways.

The water sounds a bit mysterious unless the tractor sits in hurricanes or goes over stone crossings. However, you might inspect the entire suction line and filter housing. At least that's a place where water could get in and not produce a noticeable oil leak. A cracked or blocked suction line also could be the explanation for the 3ph problems, especially if the loader doesn't work. I'd run the tractor for awhile and then check the hydraulic dipstick for frothed oil. I'd also do a hydraulic pressure test. The test should isolate whether the problem is in the pump or the hitch.

Another off-the-wall question might be: where is the oil pail stored? Just a chance the water is getting into the pail rather than the tractor.

Almost every B8200 I see with water contaminated hyd. fluid is due to the rockshaft gasket (3pt hitch lift cylinder cover) It tends to blow out in the front. Look just below the seat you may have to clean out the dirt and debris but you should be able to see part of the gasket sticking out.. It's a great place to funnel water into the trans housing.
Even if it only saw one rain storm. Your hitch probem could be several things, Blown piston packing or debris in the control valve are the most likely culprits.

Frank,
Any updates on this issue? I'm curious how things turned out...
