Baby cradle plans

Help. Do any of you woodworkers have any simple cradle plans??? I have a grandson due in March

and GrandMa thinks I need to do something special since we have 5 grandaughters and no Grandsons. Any help, plans etc is welcome.

Check the web sites of Wood Magazine and Workbench for plans. I have seen several over the last 5 years. There are several other woodworking magazines to look at. Most have a web site where you can find plans or articles. Might also try Fine Woodworking but their projects are generally for or about advanced woodworkers.

I have a grand son due in the next couple of weeks and was thinking of getting him a shot gun or rifle because we won't be able to buy one when he is of age!

Good thinking Tom. When our son was 8, I got him a youth model 20 gauge single shot, and 12, a Marlin bolt action 22 and 16 a 30-30. The best part is his birthday is in October so we didn't have to wait long to head to the woods.

here's a site with free plans and instructions.
Iliked the looks of "becky's cradle" which is a pendulum style.
(takes a while to load, but easy enough to understand once it's done)

I'm no expert on cradles... but I do have my crib in the rafters of the garage... crib was made out of a turkey coop... I'm 53 years old and dad was creative!
