Back Blade Skids

/ Back Blade Skids #21
There's another thread somewhere on the forum about modifications to a back blade that show using a pipe over the cutting edge. I thought it was a great idea and had a local machine shop cut a channel in a piece of galvanized pipe and fabricate some mounting brackets for my blade. They did a super job (used a plasma cutter to cut a nice, straight channel in the 3.5" pipe) and the thing works great!

I have a long gravel drive with stone laid down in the circle at the top near the house. Regular plow blades kept digging into the stone. This new rig just floats over everything and cleans down as far as I need it to. Well worth the $80 to have it made from a free piece of pipe. I'll try and post a photo I took on the day I brought it home.

Nice Idea tinsnip! PVC and bitter cold weather do not go together. I wonder if galvanized fence post would work better than pvc.
