Back Dragging with a Toothbar

   / Back Dragging with a Toothbar #31
I haven't taken my toothbar off yet either, though I've only had it about 3 months. I've been clearing brush with mine. Besides a 4 in 1 bucket I can't imagine a better way to clear brush.

First, it is easier to pop bushes and small trees out of the ground. Second, with teeth you can actually carry brush wider than the bucket. Third, you can point the teeth down and just backdrag brush out like a giant rake. Works great. This is probably the most useful implement that I bought.

All of the above and 1 more trick. Find a log of appropreate length about 6 to 10 (depending or your needs) feet long, stright, and about 5-6 inchs in diameter. Hook the log under the teeth, and while driving backwards, use it to "screed" the area. Kind of a poor mans smooth edge. It takes some looking for the right log, and a little practice to do the trick, but it's cheap, it works, and you won't have to worry about weather your tractor has dentures or teeth.
