I would like to buy a backhoe for my TC33DA tractor. Is the 758C a good choice? I may trade up to a TC35DA in the future and would like to buy a backhoe that would work on either. Also there are a lot of aftermarket brands out there too. Thanks!

NH offers a decent BH. I have a NH 759C for my TC55. I don't think NH makes their own BH, but can't remember who makes it for them.

If I had the opportunity to do it again, I'd buy either a Bradco or a BushHog... both seem to be heavier-duty than the NH In my opinion, both of these choices provide more armor shielding, higher quality hoses, more grease zerks (you can't have enough grease zerks), and are overall better built.

No matter who you get it from, before you use it, make sure all the hydraulic fittings stay tight, and make sure everything is always well-greased.

I have a Woods 7500 BH for my TC33D. I think it's the perfect size for me and if I trade up to a TC35 I'd keep the BH. I've been very happy with it. I'd buy another if I had it to do over.

My dealer recommended the BH over the NH... heavier duty all around. I put 40 of the first 50 hours on the tractor using the BH... digging out alot of large stumps... and love it... concur with keeping up on maintenance. Don't have experience with others, but do recommend BH.

Thanks Rich

BobbyV, I have had a 758C on a NH 1920 for 3 1/2 years. I have dug stumps, trenches, graves, and even dug a couple of 4 foot deep foundations for garages. My only complaint is that the stabilizers will not lift the rear wheels off the ground. I have to use the backhoe itself to lift (usually just one side, to level the tractor if working on a side slope). The reason for going with the 758 instead of the 757 is the greater reach, which means less repositioning and the ability to put the spoils pile further away. The price difference appears to be less than $600. If you had the TC35 now I would reccomend a Bradco or Woods 9000< as they are both heavier duty than the 758. Hope this helps, Bill C

I would have thought the 758C was too much backhoe for a TC33DA. I have an older brochure which shows that it is available for a TC33D, but I know my dealer was against that combination. I thought I remembered a post a few years ago that even though the brochure said it was OK, NH recommended against it. Of course this may have changed when they came out with the DA models??
