Back Hoe Hydro Connectors Hot

How hot do the connectors get when you run you BH. My rear remote connectors got hot today - to hot to hold or touch. Is this normal?
The day was not overly hot but humid. Ran at 1800 - 2100 rpm, usual setting for me. Moved a lot of large rock and dug a 10'x10'x4' pond area.

My quick couplers get to hot to hold/touch after the tractor/loader or backhoe have been worked a while.

If the relief valve is operating a lot, the fluid will get very hot.

Perhaps one size increase on the QD might help with the flow rate.

The fix is to run your tank line thru the trans fill port.

hyd oil goes through a lot of things that cause "friction" more friction, the more heat. there is reason why many tractors have a "hyd oil cooler" on them. normally located up front on the tractor either in front or behind the regular radiator. some times located below radiator.

due to i generally operate tractors / equipment long enough to get everything nice and hot. is reason why i do all my maintenance doings (greasing, checking oil levels, etc...) before i get on tractor for the day, vs after i get done with it. so i do not end up burning myself.

due to tractors see so many uses, from rotatory cutter (bush hog) / mowing, to just driving through dirty / dusty areas. my regular maintenance is taking a blow gun / air gun on air compressor and blowing out the radiator and hyd oil cooler. to remove all the grass and dirt that ends up accumulating on them and clogging up the grills. it can be amazing how much crud can get caught up in those small fins on the grills. and how much temperature change a clogged up radiator or hyd oil cooler can cause. ((assumption backhoe operates off of hyd off of tractor. vs a PTO hyd pump))
