It's nice to see American ingenuity is alive and well, even if our companies aren't. That's got to beat hucking the logs up onto a traditional splitter.
Man, someone beat me to that. I've been putting off that project for 2 years now. I was going to mount it the long way, but after seeing this I think it's better mounted sideways. I guess I know it'll work though.
I wonder how it would work to replace the bucket with a blade and split against a thumb. Obviously the force would be a fraction of what you get from a 4" splitter cylinder but most logs don't require that much force. Might be handy for pruning, root grubbing too.
