The market wold be too narrow for a company to start building those IMO. They are neater than cat sh*t if you have the BH to put it on.

This was made using a Northern Tool woodsplitter and a few modifications here and there.

Man, someone beat me to that. I've been putting off that project for 2 years now. I was going to mount it the long way, but after seeing this I think it's better mounted sideways. I guess I know it'll work though.

I wonder how it would work to replace the bucket with a blade and split against a thumb. Obviously the force would be a fraction of what you get from a 4" splitter cylinder but most logs don't require that much force. Might be handy for pruning, root grubbing too.

Well, they build them for SkidSteers. Of course, I have no idea how many they sell.

Seems to me that while it's certainly a lot less lifting, it's pretty tedious to get the tractor lined up with each individual log. Of course that may be that I'm just not a good enough pilot.

They make them for escavators also. I have seen some units cant remember what make where you pick up the log, it cuts it to lenght, and splits it. Very cool but very expensive for the homeowner that spilt a few cord a year.

After watching the posted video, this one popped up. It could be called the widdow maker or the sibling eliminator. I thought it looked dangerous with the kid walking around and all the unprotected pulleys. Then I watched it at work. Good Lord.

Wow, that's one scary video. Sure, it works for the first 20 minutes or so, but what happens when you get tired and slip up? No way in heck would I use something like that.

Having used a real wood splitter, and having had to back up when something went wrong...

Those kids wandering around probably learned pretty quickly not to mess with dad's contraptions, maybe the hard way. Our society today coddles our kids too much in my opinion.

Clarence's wood splitter is definitely a conTRAPtion and I'll bet there isn't one Lawyer Switch to be found on it.

First of all, clarence splitter is very cool but scary dangerous. I am impressed on how easily he was splitting the wood, but what scares me if he doesnt take his arm out on time - shudder!!!!! no thanks.
