I am converting an old back blade to use on the front of my tractor. It will mount to the QA on the FEL. I want to be able to change the angle the blade crosses the center line. Starting at 90* to the front to rear center line (straight across) what is the maxim angle the blade would need to go left and right? Is there any ideal angles?

I did some searches but did not find what I was looking for.

TIA

I would think the maximum angle would be determined by the length of your blade. When angled you would still want to cover the width of your track. I just ordered an HLA 3000 that is 108" wide to cover the 90" width of my tractor. I would estimate the angle at about 25 to 30 degrees from square.

If you want the snow to slide off the blade instead of being pushed ahead of it, you will need 45deg or more. This can present problems with the front of the tractor being pushed sideways as you plow, especially if the front wheels are not chained up....
It might be more feasible to have one angle greater than the other, like 60deg to the right, 30deg to the left...
I find that if I make my first pass up the middle, then angle the blade to full swing and widen the swath things get done a bit quicker.....

This will be the biggest problem. You'll need to take care to not rack the loader arms - they're not really designed for significant lateral support.
