A lot more oil gets sold in 5 gallon buckets than gets poured directly into an engine from that bucket.
You'll figure something out.
Talk about a first world problem.
It’s already changed and done.

Even though I’m a mountain man, it’s easier to pour 1’s or 2.5’s than a 5 when your fill hole is 5 feet in the air.
The point I’m trying to make is the shelves are emptying fast of the goods that make life easy.
Thats not a good sign.

Mines been broken 6 months. Finally came in. I wouldnt have known it was broken if the shock absorber oil didn’t leak out on the pavement
Just curious, did you try Rock Auto? Must be a common problem. My son had a broken rear shock on his 08 Ram 1500.

I just waited for the free replacement under warranty

My wife's Mazda CX-9 has a cracked block at 59k miles, just made the warranty. That was the end of September and we still don't know when we'll get a new engine. Every month they tell us 2 months more

It could be worse, but she's driving a brand new loaner and we've put about 6k miles on it. I estimate by the time we give it back it will have 15k miles.

I went out this week to look for a hybrid SUV since I drive so much that the gas savings would pretty much pay the payments over driving my truck. Multiple dealers told me 3-6 months if I ordered now, but I'm reading it's more like 10 months now

Got my new tractor the last week of September. I moved it about 100 feet and removed the front end loader and hooked the bat wing to it an put about 40 hours on it mowing and grading driveways and on November 6th I hooked the front end loader back up and found one of the cylinders had a major leak at a JIC fitting. It had a small dent on the tapered flare like it had been bumped into something at assembly. I have been back and forth with the dealer every week since then and to this day have no clue if I will ever get a new cylinder. I got the corporate side involved because out of all the parts I have tried to order for this tractor from this dealer they have never been ordered or been able to get anything for me. The corporate guys say about a 20 day lead time to get a new cylinder. I guess my issue is two fold, the obvious supply chain issues and a dealer that much like everyone in customer service these days just doesn't care.

The dealer probably doesn't care because he doesn't know any other way to fix it than to bolt on a brand new part.

But any experienced mechanic knows there are half a dozen ways to fix that problem and all of them easier and involve less time and money than you and the dealer have already spent. All they need is a real journeyman mechanic in a real shop.

Maybe this shortage will re-create the do-it-all mechanical shop staffed with people who know how to fix things. We used to have that those every town. That would be a gain for everyone.

If it weren't for the warranty aspect of it I would already have it fixed. The manufacture won't approve any repair, only replacement. I have welded plenty of new fittings in hydraulic cylinders and will most likely do this one if they can't give me anything more by the end of this month. I even offered the best all around solution strait to the manufacture and they said no. I wanted to send it to a local mom and pop hydraulic shop and let them fix it. That would get my tractor going, take the warranty off of the OEM, save the OEM at least $1200 and support the local small business! I felt for sure the supporting local small business would have sold them on my idea but no such luck. It sure sucks to have a brand new tractor that cost what this one did from a very large well know OEM that I am going to have to repair myself before I can use it this winter. If they ever do get me a new cylinder and want this one back I dare them to say something about the fitting in it being repaired! We have bought 4 of these new tractors in the last three years from them and this is the only failure we have ever had on any of them, it sucks it was on a brand new one and there is no effort to get it fixed on their part like you said.

I ordered a 60” King Kutter three point tiller 10-8-21 from my local Rural King. Upfront I was told expected delivery between 12-31-21 1-28-22 not a problem due to my needing it next spring. Today I was told updated expected ship date is 02-04-22. The current price has risen $350 from my October order date, I was told I would be charged the original 10-8 price (RK card used for order has not been charged Yet).
Hopefully it will arrive by spring.

I also have one (of six) TPMS out on my Ram. Apparently these things are notorious on many brands.
Been waiting on that since it went out in July. They replaced all 6 in a campaign, but even the “new improved” ones are notorious.
