Backfires after shut down 2013 Hustler Super z 35 hp Kawasaki

Not to be a gasoline internal combustion engine snob but.....

I simply will not own any piece of gasoline engine powered equipment unless it says Stihl or Honda on the engine. Kohler, Briggs, Kawasaki, Subaru, No Name Chinese...they're all the same to me. There's a special place in *** for Generac.....

I like my Kawasaki 23 HP engine on my Ferris mower. The manual says to slow idle it for 1-3 minutes prior to shut down, so I reduce to idle while returning to my shop for storage after mowing. I will let it set in front of my parking garage for about a minute and then pull inside to park it and shut it off. It never backfires.
My B&S 26 HP will rarely but sometimes backfire if being ran near WOT and then shut back to idle and stopped
