Hello. I was checking a few things, and noticed that the pedal will not move at all, in either direction. Is this normal if nothing is connected to the quick disconnects, or do I have a valve/control that is stuck/frozen possibly from lack of use (or likely never, ever used)?? I can say that the 1/2 mm it does move, is the limit of tolerance between the linkage rod pin and the control valve, meaning the issue is not the pedal itself. If it is stuck, what are my options? Thanks to all, and to all a Happy new year!

It should move regardless if something is plugged in or not. Something is stuck (most likely from lack of use as you surmised). Options vary, but I would wait till you working it (the backhoe) so its good and hot and keep spraying it liberally with PB Blaster of some other good penetrant while trying to work the pedal. Worst case is the spool is corroded on the valve body and it will need to be rebuilt to free it.

I removed the linkage at the valve spool, and the pedal does indeed move free. I slowly, and carefully worked the spool back and forth (rotating, not up/down), until I could easily spin it around. I did take some 'effort' to get it 'unstuck' in the rotation direction. For the spool travel (in/out) direction, I reconnected the linkage, and tried to slowly work the pedal back and forth in attempt to gently free the spool. No luck. I then resorted higher/harder level of force, and was able to free it. Currently it does move smoothly in both directions (up/down), and always easily returns to the neutral/center position. Hopefully the O-rings were not damaged in any way. I guess only time will tell.... I also noted that the freeplay/slop in some of the backhoe controls was caused by a combination of the ball&socket linkage joints locknuts not being tight (???), and a small amount of play in the ball/socket joint itself. I will tighten the nuts, and switch the worst joint out with the 7th function joint, which is as good, if not better than, new..... I'll report back with how much of a difference that makes in the control level free play.
