Backhoe Backhoe attachment for Massey GC2600?

I have a 2009 Massey-Ferguson GC2600 subcompact tractor with a front bucket loader. I added a york rake, and the combo has been pretty effective at maintaining the dirt road I live on. Now I would like to add a backhoe to it. I was told by a local dealer that I can't add a Massey backhoe, that it requires the GC2610, and won't work on a GC2600. Does anyone know why? And are there any third-party backhoes that will work with this tractor?

I had the predecessor with BH which was a 2310 (2300 was w/o BH) and I would suggest emailing Massey via their website. I remember getting semi fast answers from them on a couple questions. You could follow up with dealer for specific reasons why it would not work and if he works with any aftermarket manufacturers that do provide a BH for your model. Or pursue it with a different dealer. By looking at the 2300 or 2600 you would think it would be possible especially since aftermarket manufacturers can figure it out. I can think of a couple of reasons why Massey would not want to do this including marketing.

Woods Equipment has made a subframe BH for the Massey GC since the first models of the series. And there are a other aftermarket manufacturers that with a little research you could confirm availability.

I was lucky enough to have a dealer who warned me not to buy the tractor without a hoe as original equipment, due to not being able to add one later. I don't remember exactly what he said but it was enough to make me spend more up front. Absolutely no regrets
