Got a thumb ?

With the aid of a thumb, you can grab a beam or wood post and blade away.

That's what I use, works great.

I took a piece of metal and welded a tab to it and then a bolt through the bucket. the metal covers the bucket teeth and gives you a smooth edge. Mine is only as wide as the bucket, but you could make it wider...

I see there is a squeegee type of blade that attachs to bucket to save time backfilling, but not sure who makes it. plowking

gradall makes just such a thing as an attachment for there excavators. i never used one so cant say how well they work but i personaly like the 5ft wide bucket which has no teeth for grading off and backfilling with my gradall excavator, its like having a 5ft wide blade but you can also still pick up material with it and move it around. any larger areas that arnt too steep its faster to do with the dozer
